Dre' Bly Signs Two-Year Deal With Lions

Cornerback Dre' Bly has signed a two-year deal with the Lions, the team announced this afternoon.

Bly originally played for the Lions from 2003-06 and made the Pro Bowl twice. His stay in Detroit came to an end during the 2007 offseason when he was traded to the Broncos in exchange for Tatum Bell, George Foster and a fifth-round pick in the draft. Looking back, it wasn't a very good deal for the Lions, to say the least.

Bly spent the last few years in Denver and most recently San Francisco, and he is looking forward to playing for the Lions again.

"I feel like I played my best ball here in Detroit," said Bly. "I feel like it’s home and to come back and have the chance to finish my career where I played my best ball – where I feel like I’m part of the community – is a great feeling."

None of the starting jobs at cornerback are locked up yet for the Lions, so Bly will have a great opportunity to step back into a starting role this year after making only six starts a year ago. From 2006-08, Bly started every single game.
