Lions Training Camp: Updating The Lions' Injury Situation

Since so many players have been banged up lately, I felt like it would be worthwhile to do a rundown of the injured players and where they stand health-wise right now.

  • RB Maurice Morris was back at practice on Tuesday after dealing with tightness in his leg on Monday and missing practice.
  • WR Mike Moore is still dealing with a shoulder injury that has kept him out of practice for an extended period of time.
  • TE Brandon Pettigrew was out Wednesday, but that was simply a scheduled day off.
  • OG Stephen Peterman has been cleared to practice after an MRI on his knee revealed nothing too concerning.
  • DT Corey Williams had to leave Tuesday's practice after experiencing dizziness because of the heat. All week it's been pretty humid, and with temperatures up around 90 degrees, it must be really tough to get through practice.
  • DE Jared DeVries (knee injury) and LB DeAndre Levy (sore back) are both still sidelined with injuries. Levy has been out 11 straight days coming into today, and altogether DeVries is probably close to or at double digits for missed time during camp so far.
  • DE Turk McBride hurt his right ankle on Wednesday and was "hobbled" during practice.
  • CB Amari Spievey (hip injury) took part in individual drills on Tuesday, but he didn't do any drills on Wednesday, according to Tom Kowalski.
  • CB Aaron Berry has been unable to practice since injuring his hamstring.
  • CB Dre Bly was out on Wednesday with a mild quadriceps strain, but he expects to play against the Steelers on Saturday.
  • CB Jack Williams (knee injury) and S Ko Simpson (knee injury) are both still on the PUP list and have yet to practice during training camp.
  • CB Dante Wesley apparently didn't take any reps in practice on Wednesday, but it's unknown if he is injured.
  • S Louis Delmas (groin injury) has practiced for three consecutive days (not counting today), although he is only doing it on a limited basis, as there's no point to rush him back too quickly.
  • K Jason Hanson is still out after having knee surgery, but he should be ready for the regular season.
