Lions Acquire Seattle's Lawrence Jackson For Undisclosed Draft Pick

Stay connected for news and updates

The Detroit Lions have traded for Seattle Seahawks defensive end/outside linebacker Lawrence Jackson. In exchange for Jackson, the Seahawks will reportedly receive an undisclosed pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Jackson is a former first-round pick, as he was selected 28th overall in 2008. He went to USC, but despite his ties to current Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, Seattle decided to send him to Detroit since he didn't fit in their new defensive scheme.

With the Lions, it is expected that Jackson will play defensive end considering he is 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds. With defensive end Jason Hunter being released earlier this week, it looks as though Jackson is being brought in to add some starting-caliber potential to the position.
