Aaron Berry's season is officially over, as the Lions placed him on injured reserve after only one game. Berry hurt his shoulder against the Bears, and it is serious enough to require surgery, which will keep him out for the rest of the season.
Lions cornerback Aaron Berry has been placed on the injured-reserved list and will undergo season-ending surgery on his right shoulder after re-aggravating a college injury in his first NFL game.
Berry was banged up during training camp, but he overcame missing an extended period of time to make the team thanks to his impressive play and potential. He was originally signed earlier in the year as an undrafted free agent, but he made an impression on the Lions early on and played his way onto the team.
On Sunday, Berry had an interception against the Bears. He looked good before hurting his shoulder, so it's too bad for the Lions that he's done for the season. This is why Nathan Vasher was signed, though. The Lions anticipated losing Berry and went ahead and had Vasher come to Allen Park to sign with the team.
