UMKC Vs. Michigan State Basketball Final Score: Spartans Dominate Kangaroos 89-54

Stay connected for news and updates

Michigan State's 10th win in a row was perhaps the easiest one yet.

The Spartans started the game on a 16-2 run and then ran all over the UMKC Kangaroos by a final count of 89-54 on Monday night in East Lansing.

Freshman forward Brandan Dawson delivered another fine games for the Spartans, notching a career-high 16 points on 8-14 shooting, which follows his 5-6 shooting effort against Bowling Green in Saturday's win. Guard Brandon Wood made 4-4 three-pointers and 6-6 overall from the field on his way to 16 points. And Draymond Green quietly accumulated 10 points,9 rebounds and 6 assists.

One statistical curiosity was the free throw shooting by both teams: Michigan State shot 11-24 while UMKC shot 8-15 on a crook night at the stripe.

With the win, Michigan Stat improves to 10-2, after starting the season 0-2.

The Spartans host the 9-3 Lehigh Mountain Hawks on Thursday before opening their conference schedule at home against the No. 17 Indiana Hoosiers on Dec. 28.
