Red Wings Vs. Canadiens Final Score: Detroit Shocked 7-2 In Montreal

It was clear that the Detroit Red Wings were not playing at home, as they were rocked by the Montreal Canadiens 7-2 on Wednesday night at Bell Centre in Montreal..

Detroit's franchise-record 17-game home winning streak remains intact, but their seven-game overall winning streak was emphatically snapped, as Montreal went up 6-0 in the first 25 minutes of ice time.

David Desharnais was one of the chief villains of the night, scoring a pair of goals and also finding Max Pacioritty for an assist.

The Red Wings, who have not lost at home since falling to the Calgary Flames on Nov. 3 -- more than two and a half months ago -- drop to 13-14-0 on the road. Detroit remains on top of the Eastern Conference with 67 points, but they are just three points ahead of the Vancouver Canucks.

The game is no way proper way for the conference leaders to go into All-Star break, and it must be noted that Detroit opens the second portion of the regular season on a four-game road trip, starting on Jan. 31 against the Calgary Flames.
