The first 2012 BCS rankings of the season have been released with no Big Ten teams making the list. The Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators hold the top two spots
The first BCS rankings of the 2012 season have been revealed with no Big Ten teams making the list.
Michigan is ranked No. 23 in the AP poll with Northwestern, Nebraska and Wisconsin all receiving votes, however all were held out of the BCS rankings. Michigan defeated Illinois Saturday, 45-0.
Ohio State is 7-0 and ranked No. 7 in the AP poll, however, they are bowl ineligible this season due to NCAA sanctions
The Alabama Crimson Tide hold the top spot in the rankings after defeating Missouri this past weekend. The Crimson Tide are 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in the SEC. They play Tennessee next Saturday. Following Alabama is the Florida Gators and Oregon Ducks. No. 2 Florida faces No. 7 South Carolina next week while No. 3 Oregon squares off with Arizona State. Kansas State and Notre Dame round out the top 5.
This week's rankings mark the 13th straight BCS poll in which an SEC team held the top spot.
