Mark Dantonio glad Michigan State no longer has to face Denard Robinson

Michigan State has done a good job against Denard Robinson during his career. That doesn't mean he's been easy to prepare for.

The Michigan State Spartans have done better than most teams when it comes to containing Denard Robinson over the years. The dynamic Michigan Wolverines quarterback got his first win in three tries as a starter against the Spartans on Saturday, and Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio is glad his team will no longer have to prepare for Robinson, according to Diamond Leung of MLive.

"That's probably the difference," Dantonio told MLive, referencing two plays Robinson made on the final drive to get Michigan in field goal range. "Last year, he didn't make that. That's why I'm glad he's gone. He's tough to defend. Credit Denard Robinson. He made a lot of plays."

Robinson was 14-for-29 for 163 yards and an interception on Saturday. He carried the ball 20 times for 96 yards. In the Wolverines' 2011 game against the Spartans, he completed 9-of-24 passes and ran for just 42 yards. In 2010, he threw three interceptions and ran for 73 yards.
