The Detroit Tigers host the San Francisco Giants in Game 4 of the 2012 World Series Sunday down 3-0 in the best-of-seven series.
Max Scherzer takes the mound for the Tigers, looking to avoid the four game sweep. Sunday's start will be the third for Scherzer this postseason. He is 1-0 in his previous two outings with 18 strikeouts and a 0.82 ERA. He went 5.2 inning against the New York Yankees in the ALCS, allowing only one run on two hits.
For San Francisco, Matt Cain gets the start looking to capture the seventh World Series title in Giants' history. A win Sunday would be Cain's third series-clinching win this postseason, as he won both Game 5 of the NLDS against the Cincinnati Reds and Game 7 of the ALCS against the St. Louis Cardinals. Cain is 2-2 with a 3.52 ERA this postseason.
No team has ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit in the World Series.
