2012 Daytona 500: Race Delayed Due To Rain

Stay connected for news and updates

How is this for anti-climactic start to the racing season? Rain has delayed the start of the Daytona 500 for Brad Keselowski and the other 42 racers.

No official word has yet has been released about whether the race will start today or need to be postponed, but as things stand it is not looking very promising, via Brian Neudorff of SBNation.com.

There is so much rain and moisture coming in off the Gulf and it is heading in a more easterly direction. It is riding a stalled boundary like a train on railroad tracks.

It is appearing more and more likely we won't see the Daytona 500 on Sunday.

If the race does not start today, it could be rescheduled for Monday. However, the weather forecast also calls for rain on Monday, leaving open the possibility that the Daytona 500 could be pushed all the way back to Tuesday.
