Big Ten Tournament Bracket Update: Michigan State, Ohio State To Meet In Championship Game

For the second time in a week, Michigan State and Ohio State will meet with a Big Ten title on the line. This time, on Sunday, the two teams will be playing for the Big Ten tournament title.

Last Sunday in East Lansing, Michigan State had a chance to win the regular-season title outright, whereas Ohio State needed a victory to earn a share of the regular-season crown. The Buckeyes ultimately triumphed in the game thanks to a clutch shot by William Buford with time running out, giving Ohio State the win and creating a tie at the top of the standings between OSU, MSU and Michigan.

Before Ohio State won last week, Michigan State had taken a game from the Buckeyes in Columbus. That 58-48 victory for the Spartans occurred on Feb. 11 and put them in front in the title race. Ohio State got revenge for that last week, and now Michigan State is looking to counter with some revenge of its own on Sunday in Indianapolis.

If the Spartans are victorious, it will be their third Big Ten tournament title in program history. They won back-to-back titles in 1999 and 2000 and hadn't even been back to the final until this year.

Ohio State is looking for its third consecutive Big Ten tournament title. The Buckeyes haven't lost in the tournament since dropping the championship game in 2009 to Purdue. If the Buckeyes do win, it will be their program's fifth Big Ten tournament title (if you still count the one that was vacated in 2002).

Tip off for the 2012 Big Ten tournament championship game is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
