NCAA Tournament 2012 Bracket Update: Detroit Is No. 15 Seed, Will Face Kansas On Friday

Detroit has earned a No. 15 seed in the 2012 NCAA tournament and will face Kansas in its first game.

The 2012 NCAA tournament bracket and field have been announced, and the Detroit Titans have received a No. 15 seed in the Midwest Region. The Titans' opening game will be against Kansas, and they will play on Friday in Omaha. If Detroit pulls off the upset, it will face the winner of No. 7 Purdue and No. 10 Saint Mary's on Sunday.

The Titans earned a No. 15 seed after winning the Horizon League tournament in dominating fashion over Valparaiso on the road. Detroit trailed at halftime but took control in the second half to earn the 70-50 victory. Detroit finished 11-7 in the conference in the regular season before making its Horizon League tournament run.

No. 1 North Carolina vs. No. 16 Lamar OR Vermont (Friday)

No. 8 Creighton vs. No. 9 Alabama (Friday)

No. 5 Temple vs. No. 12 California OR South Florida (Friday)

No. 4 Michigan vs. No. 13 Ohio (Friday)

No. 2 Kansas vs. No. 15 Detroit (Friday)

No. 7 Purdue vs. No. 10 Saint Mary's (Friday)

No. 3 Georgetown vs. No. 14 Belmont (Friday)

No. 6 San Diego State vs. No. 11 NC State (Friday)
