Selection Sunday is finally here. At 6 p.m., Michigan, Michigan State, Detroit and the rest of the college basketball world will find out what the 2012 NCAA tournament bracket looks like.

One of the most exciting times of the year for sports fans is March Madness. It is already in full swing with conference tournaments taking place this week, and the final championship games will take place on Sunday afternoon. Once they are complete, all focus will turn to Selection Sunday. Finally, teams will find out if they're in the NCAA tournament, where they will be playing, who they will be playing and what seed they will have.

For the state of Michigan, three teams know they are going dancing on Selection Sunday: Michigan State, Michigan and Detroit. The Spartans and Wolverines shared the regular season Big Ten title with Ohio State, and Michigan State is actually taking on the Buckeyes on Sunday in the Big Ten tournament championship game. The Spartans could very well be playing for a No. 1 seed, so we know they are comfortably in.

The same goes for Michigan. Although the Wolverines did get blown out by Ohio State on Saturday, they have a shot at a No. 3 seed. At worst, they should be a No. 4 seed, so for the first time since they won the Big Ten tournament title back in 1998, the Wolverines are safely in the field and are not on the bubble. Unlike 2009 and 2011, there will be no stress on Selection Sunday.

Detroit also doesn't have to deal with any stress on Selection Sunday. The Titans beat Valparaiso earlier in the week in the Horizon League tournament championship game to secure an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. It will be the Titans' first trip to the Big Dance since 1999.

The NCAA tournament selection show will begin at 6 p.m. ET on CBS.

Be sure to check in with SB Nation Detroit throughout the day for coverage of the Big Ten tournament championship game and for all of the latest news on the bracket once it is released.
