NCAA Bracket 2012 Update: Western Kentucky, BYU Advance

If day one of the 2012 NCAA tournament is any indication, we are in for an especially exciting couple weeks of March Madness. I say that because the first two games of the First Four were held on Tuesday night and both saw a team come back from a large deficit to win.

In the first game of the night, Western Kentucky overcame a 16-point deficit with five minutes left to beat Mississippi Valley State. The game itself wasn't pretty to watch, but the comeback was quite exciting, as the Hilltoppers stormed back for a 59-58 victory. They now get to take on Kentucky, the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament, on Thursday.

The second game was just as ugly early on. Iona actually led BYU by 25 points in the first half. With less than five to go in the first half, Iona had already scored 55 points. Then, amazingly, BYU turned things around and completely shut down Iona's offense. The Cougars came back to win 78-72, meaning that in the final 25 minutes of the game, Iona only managed to score 17 points. BYU moves on to face Marquette on Thursday.
