2012 British Open Leaderboard: Adam Scott Alone At Top, Justin Hicks 4 Shots Back

Stay connected for news and updates

Former University of Michigan golfer Justin Hicks is tied for 14th after the first round of The Open Championship following a round of 2-under 68.

Hicks recorded four birdies and two bogeys in his round and is tied with eight different players.

Adam Scott is atop the leaderboard after shooting a 6-under 64. If he had birdied No. 18 instead of bogey it, he would have shot the lowest round in a major championship. Scott scored three birdies and one bogey on the front nine, with five birdies and one bogey on the back nine. From holes 11-16, Scott birdied five of the six holes.

Zach Johnson, Nicholas Colsaerts and Paul Lawrie are one stroke behind Scott. Some notable names, including Tiger Woods, are tied for sixth after a 3-under 67. Here is the full leaderboard and below is the top 10.
