Jahvid Best Injury: Lions Haven't Decided On Regular Season PUP List Yet

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz insists that the team hasn't committed to placing running back Jahvid Best on the physically unable to perform list for the regular season yet, as Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press writes. If the Lions do so, Best will be required to sit out the first six games of the regular season.

The final cut for rosters occurs next week, so the team will have to make a decision soon regarding their primary running back. Best hasn't played since Oct. 16 of last year after suffering a concussion against the San Francisco 49ers, so the team is trying to be cautious given the severity of the head injury.

If the Lions do end up putting Best on the PUP list, he'll be forced to sit out until the team's Oct. 22 match-up with the Chicago Bears. He hasn't practiced yet with the team this year, so he's obviously not that close to making his return at the moment.
