The Detroit Tigers issued updates on three injured players on Tuesday night, and the good news is that none of the injuries seems too serious. Here is the information that the Tigers released:
- Max Scherzer's MRI revealed no structural damage. The team says that he won't throw for a few days, and that he will be reevaluated later in the week.
- Alex Avila does not have a concussion, and is being listed as day-to-day.
- Quintin Berry suffered a right shoulder contusion. His X-rays also came back negative.
Though the prognoses for all three players are fairly positive, Detroit's margin of error as it tries to play its way into the playoffs is very slim. Scherzer, especially, has been one of the team's best players in the second half of the season.
