On the first offensive play of the game for the San Francisco 49ers, Alex Smith fumbled the ball away to the Detroit Lions. Actually, I should say Smith had the ball stolen from him by Kyle Vanden Bosch, who got a great jump and forced and recovered the fumble in one motion. Check it out:
The fumble recovery set up a scoring drive that ended with a 25-yard Jason Hanson field goal.
