After two straight home losses the Detroit Lions have fallen quite a bit in this week's SB Nation NFL Power Rankings according to Joel Thorman. Last week after losing to San Francisco the Lions were still comfortably in the top 10 at No. 6. After losing to the Atlanta Falcons this past week, however, Detroit has slipped another two spots to No. 8:

8. Detroit Lions (5-2, LW: 6): That's two losses in a row. Were the Lions a bit of a fluke early on? Did they start believing they were good? Winning two (Broncos, Panthers) of their next three is very possible and that'd move them to 7-3 entering Week 12.

The Lions have a great chance to improve their record and playoff chances over the next few weeks when they face the dangerous, but struggling Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos over the next two weeks. The loss to Atlanta stings because they now lack the tiebreaker against a possible team they are battling for a wild card berth.
