While Lions running back Jahvid Best is still likely out for Sunday's game with the Carolina Panthers, he did make an appearance at practice on Thursday afternoon. He has also not spoken much with the media, but according to Anwar Richardson with Mlive.com, the running back is said to be improving:
"I'll just say this with Jahvid, he is improving," Lions coach Jim Schwartz said. "He's back in the building and those kind of things, on a limited basis. I think that's obviously a good sign, but we still don't have clearance for him to do physical activity yet."
Thursday was only the second time the media has seen him at practice since he was injured with a concussion. Best has gained over 600 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. His big play ability is an element that has been missing from the running game for Detroit. The Lions are only 1-2 since he was injured.
