Detroit Lions Injury Report, Week 10: Jahvid Best Missed Practice, Matthew Stafford Did Not

The Detroit Lions will face the Chicago Bears this weekend as they try to keep a firm grasp on the NFC North's runner-up spot. According to the first official injury report of the week, however, it seems as though the Lions will once again have to do it without running back Jahvid Best.

Best, still suffering the repercussions from a pair of concussions sustained earlier in the season, was one of four players not to practice for Detroit on Wednesday. It doesn't exactly mean anything as Wednesday's aren't critical to determining statuses for the weekend's game, but Tuesday's news led most to believe Best will be out this week.

Jahvid Best is still recovering from a concussion, and it looks like he is unlikely to play this coming Sunday in a key NFC North matchup against the Chicago Bears. ESPN is reporting that he is likely out of Sunday's game, meaning Maurice Morris will likely get the start in his place:

"Best, who has dealt with concussions dating back to college, is scheduled to meet with more doctors this week and will undergo further testing, the source said."

Jason Hanson, Sammie Hill and Kyle Vanden Bosch were the only other Lions players that didn't practice, though Vanden Bosch's absence was not due to injury issues. Hanson, the team's veteran kicker, has an injury bad enough to warrant working out other kickers.

Matthew Stafford, Brandon Pettigrew, Rashied Davis and Ryan Donahue were all listed on the injury report as well, though the two key players -- Stafford and Pettigrew -- both were full participants while the latter two were limited.
