The Detroit Lions may be slightly shorthanded as the try to clinch a playoff berth on Christmas Eve at home against the San Diego Chargers. The Lions' first injury report of the week is out and it is riddled with DNPs. A total of seven players did not participate in practice on Wednesday:

Among the notable players that did participate was running back Kevin Smith. Smith missed the game two weeks ago against Minnesota, but was able to return last week against Oakland to help the Detroit running game. Defensive End Kyle Vanden Bosch was limited with a neck injury and did not participate, which could cut into Detroit's pass rush against Philip Rivers. Starters Nick Fairley and Louis Delmas did not participate, either.
