The Lions and Chargers are underway at Ford Field, but things got a little chippy in the early going. As the teams were in the tunnel before the game some minor pushing and shoving broke out between the two. Both teams quickly got things under control:
Detroit is already out to a 7-0 lead thanks to an excellent opening drive. The Lions went 74 yards in nine plays before Matthew Stafford found Brandon Pettigrew for a seven-yard touchdown catch. Stafford was 4-of-5 on the drive for 73 yards and also had a three-yard rush as Detroit got it done mostly through the air. Calvin Johnson had a 46-yard reception to help set up the go-ahead touchdown.
Pettigrew had two catches for 17 yards on the drive, with one of them, of course, going for the touchdown. Nate Burleson also already has two catches for 15 yards as the Lions are driving once again.
