Lions Vs. Chiefs: Sellout Reached For Sunday's Home Opener

For more on the Lions, check out Pride of Detroit.

The Detroit Lions announced on Wednesday that they have reached a sellout for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. This means the game will air locally and there will be no blackout. This also means the Lions will take on the Chiefs in front of a packed Ford Field crowd.

Considering the Lions sold out their preseason home game against the New England Patriots, it's no surprise Sunday's game is also sold out. Ticket sales are way up across the board, and the expectation is for there to be no blackouts this year.

In 2010, the Lions managed to sell out all but one of their eight home games, and that was with a below-.500 team without Matthew Stafford for most of the year. Now with hope and optimism higher than it has been in a long time, all eight home games should be sellouts. In fact, with Sunday's game and the Monday night game against the Bears next month already sold out, the Lions are well on their way to having no blackouts in 2011.
