No matter what happens on Sunday, a former collegiate player from the state of Michigan will win a Super Bowl ring. For former Michigan Wolverines star Tom Brady, he can take a step towards football immortality. Only Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw have won four Super Bowls as a starting quarterback, and no one has won five. Without question, Brady would go down as one of the greatest in NFL history with a fourth ring.
He is not the only former Michigan college player that can win a championship tonight. Backup quarterback Brian Hoyer played for the Michigan State Spartans, while punter Zoltan Mesko played for Michigan. Tight End Carson Butler is on the practice squad for New England after playing at Michigan.
