The Detroit Lions will enter the final day of the 2012 NFL Draft with four remaining selections. After upgrading the offensive side of the ball by selecting offensive tackle RIley Reiff with 23rd overall selection and wide receiver Ryan Broyles in the second round, the Lions finally addressed the defense in the third round when they selected cornerback Dwight Bentley with the 85th overall selection.
(1) #23 Riley Reiff, Offensive Tackle, Iowa
(2) #54 Ryan Broyles, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma
(3) #85 Dwight Bentley, Conrerback, Louisiana-Lafayette
In the third and final day, the Lions will have two selections in the remaining rounds. Their first pick will come in the fourth round when they select at No. 117 and their final pick will come in the fifth round when they select at No. 158.
The team was forced to forfeit their sixth round pick due to findings of tampering with the Kansas City Chiefs when Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham made comments about certain players currently on the Chiefs. Cunningham spent ten-years as the Chiefs defensive coordinator (one year as the team's head coach in 1999-2000).
