Lions OTAs: Skill Position Players Ease Themselves Back Into Action

A handful of Detroit Lions skill position players practiced, with varying degrees of intensity, in Monday's organized team activities, or OTAs.

As SB Nation Detroit noted Monday evening, running back Jahvid Best, who is recovering from a season-ending concussion sustained in Week 6 last season, took reps as the No. 1 running back. But he is but one of a slew of players working their way back into action.

Rookie receiver Ryan Broyles, the team's second-round pick, is recovering from a torn ACL that cut short his senior season at Oklahoma. Even so, he ran routes with receivers on Monday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

From the Free Press:

...Broyles got some rare personal attention in a side session with the quarterbacks and offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. Broyles caught passes from Matthew Stafford as Linehan broke down routes and techniques for him.

"Man, they don't want me to do as much out there, so they want to pull me to the side," Broyles said. "So I don't think it was any special treatment. I was just going through a couple routes and getting the feel of the quarterback, so I'm glad I got the one-on-one attention."

Running back Mikel Leshoure, who is recovering form an Achilles injury (and nagging off-the-field issues) practiced as well, according to this ESPN.com blog post.
