Nick Fairley Arrested: Details Of Lions DT's Latest Run-In With Law

It has been an unfortunate off-season for the Detroit Lions in terms of arrests, and their former first round pick Nick Fairley has put his name in the papers again for all the wrong reasons with an arrest very early on Sunday morning.

As reported by the Detroit Free Press, the Alabama Department of Public Safety issued a release giving more details on Fairley's latest brush with the law. According to the release, Fairley was going over 100 miles per hour in his Cadillac and refused to heed the police officers right off the bat. Even worse, he 'showed signs of impairment' after he finally stopped.

Lisa Burdett of the Alabama State Troopers said in an e-mail that Fairley, who was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and attempting to elude police, declined a Breathalyzer test. He was also issued traffic citations for reckless driving, no proof of insurance and open container, according to the release.

Fairley posted his $1750 bond and was released at 9 a.m. following the arrest.

It remains to be seen what the league will do to Fairley and the Lions, but there can't be any good that comes out of a second arrest, this one going 100 MPH while under the influence.
