The Detroit Lions are set to host the Buffalo Bills in their preseason finale on Thursday.
In their final preseason tuneup the Detroit Lions will host the Buffalo Bills on Thursday as players get their final chance to impress the coaches and make the 53-man roster. The Lions (1-2) hope to avoid any major injuries as they get ready for the start of the regular season.
Matthew Stafford survived a scare when his left hand got crushed in the Lions' third preseason game against the Oakland Raiders on Aug. 25, but he was back practicing on Monday and has said he feels fine. Coach Jim Schwartz has said that healthy players will play tonight but has given no specific mention of Stafford who will be ready for the regular season opener against the Rams on Sept. 9.
As is the case with every preseason finale, this game will be more about the bottom of the roster than the top of it. With the deadline for final cuts coming on Friday at 9 p.m. ET, this is the last opportunity for many of the remaining players to make a mark and earn their spot on the roster.
Game Time: 7 p.m. ET
Location: Ford Field
Radio: WXYT-FM (97.1)
TV: WXYZ Channel 7
