Week 2 NFL Picks: Lions Vs. 49ers, Only 1 Of 23 Experts Says Detroit Can Win On Sunday Night

The Detroit Lions are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night in a showcase game on NBC, but experts from ESPN, CBS and Yahoo! think the game won't be much of a contest. The combined group of 23 experts across those three sites produced surprising results: only one of the experts says Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and the Lions will win. Those trends in NFL prognostication make sense for lowly teams like the Cleveland Browns, but not for one as talented as Detroit. Here is how the picks broke down for each of those sites.

Every member of the 12-man panel at ESPN selected the 49ers, all three experts from Yahoo! also picked San Francisco, and only one expert from the eight-man from the panel at CBS -- NFL blogger Ryan Wilson -- had the guts to go with the Lions. In other words, Detroit will have plenty of people to prove wrong on Sunday night.
