Lions Injury Report: Chris Houston, Bill Bentley Each Return To Practice Field Wednesday

The Detroit Lions listed seven players on their initial Week 3 injury report on Wednesday, but still should pick up a much-needed boost by the expected return of starting cornerbacks Chris Houston and Bill Bentley.

Houston, who missed Detroit's first two games with a sprained ankle, was a full participant in practice on Wednesday for the first time since suffering the injury. The 27-year-old defensive back has already vowed to play against the Titans on Sunday, and going full speed in the middle of the week is a good sign that he'll be able to suit up.

Hoping to start opposite Houston on Sunday if all goes well, Bentley also returned to the practice field on Wednesday despite being in a limited capacity. The rookie corner sustained a concussion in the Lions' opener against St. Louis, and was forced to give way to reserve Jacob Lacey in the starting lineup in Week 2.

Although the Lions look to be getting healthier on the defensive side of the ball at the moment, tight end Tony Scheffler and receiver Calvin Johnson each sat out on Wednesday with calf and ankle injuries respectively. Johnson was given the exact same treatment following Week 1 and did not appear hampered against the 49ers, while Scheffler's injury appears to have been suffered during Sunday's loss.

Wednesday's full injury report:

WR Calvin Johnson (Ankle) - Didn't practice

TE Tony Scheffler (Calf) - Didn't practice

DT Corey Williams (Knee) - Didn't practice

LB Travis Lewis (Quad) - Didn't practice

CB Drayton Florence (Forearm) - Didn't practice

CB Bill Bentley (Concussion) - Limited in practice

CB Chris Houston (Ankle) - Fully practiced

S Louis Delmas (Knee) - Didn't practice
