Week 1 of the 2012 NFL season has finally arrived. On Sunday afternoon, the Detroit Lions will kick off their season by playing host to the St. Louis Rams. It's Matthew Stafford vs. Sam Bradford and Jim Schwartz vs. Jeff Fisher, his former boss, in the season opener.
The Lions head into the regular season after going 2-2 in the preseason. Detroit beat the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills and lost to the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders. On Sunday, the Lions will try to get the 2012 season started off on a positive note as they begin their quest to return to the playoffs for a second consecutive season.
The Rams also had a 2-2 record in the preseason. They got clobbered by the Indianapolis Colts in Andrew Luck's debut and also lost to the Dallas Cowboys. Their two wins came against the Kansas City Chiefs and Ravens.
Sunday's game between the Lions and Rams will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
