Week 1 NFL Odds: Rams Vs. Lions, Detroit Listed As Heavy Favorite For Opener

The Detroit Lions are favorites for their Week 1 matchup against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. The line opened with the Lions favored by 9 points, but it has since moved down and now Detroit is listed as a 7-point favorite on some sites, a 7.5-point favorite on other sites and a 9-point favorite on 5Dimes.eu (all odds sites are listed on OddsShark.com). The over/under for the game is currently listed at 45.5 points.

The Rams are looking for a fresh start after a 2-14 season, but new head coach Jeff Fisher has plenty of work to do -- especially on defense -- if the Rams want to return to the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Lions are bringing back one of the most explosive offensive units in the NFL, and they will look to take advantage of a weak Rams defense.

Be sure to visit Pride of Detroit for more Lions coverage, and head over to Turf Show Times for more on the Rams. Also visit SB Nation's NFL hub for even more news and analysis from around the league.
