Pistons Invite Vernon Hamilton To Training Camp

The Pistons increased their preseason camp roster size to 17 on Tuesday, officially inviting former Clemson guard Vernon Hamilton to report

Hamilton is a 6-foot guard who played in Switzerland last season, was once a Cleveland Cavalier camp invitee, and played 23 games in the NBA Developmental League. Hamilton tweeted on Friday (which has since been deleted) that he signed with the Pistons, but was reportedly running into some problems getting his official release to come to the States. Those problems were obviously ironed out and he's supposed to practice with the team for the first time today.

Hamilton was a four-year starter at Clemson University and their career and single-season steals leader. While playing in the NBA Developmental League, he averaged 4.1 points and 2.0 assists for the Fort Wayne Ants and Colorado 14ers.

Pistons Invite Ike Diogu To Training Camp

Multiple sources are reporting that the Detroit Pistons have invited forward Ike Diogu to training camp. He'll be the 16th player on the team's roster. Diogu is a 6-foot-9 forward in his fourth NBA season. He sat out all of the 2009-10 season with a left knee injury.

The Pistons will be Diogu's fifth NBA team. He was drafted out of Arizona State by the Golden State Warriors in 2005. Two years later, he was traded to the Indiana Pacers, where he spent two seasons before being dealt to Portland. In less than one season, the Blazers traded him to Sacramento, where he played out the final year of his contract. Diogu signed last year with New Orleans, but aggravated a knee injury in training camp. He had microfracture surgery on that left knee last December.

For his career, Diogu has averaged 6.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. His best numbers were with the Kings, averaging 9.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 10 games.

Other teams reportedly interested in Diogu were the Mavericks, Nuggets, Jazz and Spurs
