Pistons Invite Vernon Hamilton To Training Camp

Stay connected for news and updates

The Pistons increased their preseason camp roster size to 17 on Tuesday, officially inviting former Clemson guard Vernon Hamilton to report

Hamilton is a 6-foot guard who played in Switzerland last season, was once a Cleveland Cavalier camp invitee, and played 23 games in the NBA Developmental League. Hamilton tweeted on Friday (which has since been deleted) that he signed with the Pistons, but was reportedly running into some problems getting his official release to come to the States. Those problems were obviously ironed out and he's supposed to practice with the team for the first time today.

Hamilton was a four-year starter at Clemson University and their career and single-season steals leader. While playing in the NBA Developmental League, he averaged 4.1 points and 2.0 assists for the Fort Wayne Ants and Colorado 14ers.
