Pistons Vs. Pacers Final Score: Detroit Closes Out 2011 With Season's First Win

In the first game of the season the Pistons lost the rebounding battle to the Pacers by 13 and were defeated by double digits. Tonight, to close out the calendar year, the Pistons outrebounded the Pacers by 13 and won by eight. I guess you can say rebounding is pretty important.

The Pistons were led by Jonas Jerebko and Greg Monroe, who combined for 39 points and 23 rebounds. All five Pistons' starters scored in double digits and the team shot 48-percent from the field. Rodney Stuckey contributed 15 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds.

The Pistons sealed the game in the final minute after a Stuckey turnover when Jerebko intercepted a Paul George pass around half court. It led to a Monroe tip in to put the Pistons up by the final score, 96-88.

With the win, the Pistons pick up their first win of the season to improve to 1-3, dropping the once undefeated Pacers to 3-1.

The Pistons play again next year against the Magic at The Palace.

Pistons Vs. Pacers Score Update: Detroit Leads By 8 At Half

Both teams got into Michigan pretty early this morning after games last night, making for a pretty sloppy first half this evening. However, the Pistons seem to be benefitting the most from the ugliness, leading the undefeated Indiana Pacers by eight points at the break.

The Pistons led by as many as 12 and shot 48-percent in the first 24 minutes. The Pacers were held to just 37-percent shooting.

The Pistons moved the ball well, racking up 16 assists on their 22 baskets, led by Rodney Stuckey and Brandon Knight who had four assists apiece.

Jonas Jerebko was all over the place and led both teams in scoring with 16 (on 7-of-11 shooting). Jerebko also has a game-high seven rebounds.

The Pacers are being led by Tyler Hansbrough, who has 10 points off the bench.
