For the first 40 minutes of Monday night's game against the Washington Wizards in D.C., it felt like the Pistons would be gaining better position for the NBA draft lottery. However, a 16-4 run in response to a 12-point deficit and a Rodney Stuckey jumper with 0.2 seconds left on the clock gave the Pistons a 79-77 win.
The finish was way more exciting than you could have ever imagined given the two teams and how the first 47 minutes went. With a minute left in the game, Stuckey hit a three-pointer to give the Pistons their first lead since the first quarter, 74-73. Nene answered, though, with a hook to put the Wizards back up one at 40 seconds.
On the Pistons' next possession, Greg Monroe somehow found a way to tap in a Tayshaun Prince miss and the Pistons made it a two-point lead when Ben Wallace split his free throws after corralling a John Wall miss and being fouled.
With 11 seconds left, the Wizards gave it back to Nene, who backed Wallace down and hit another hook to tie the game. With no timeouts, the Pistons inbounded to Stuckey and he stuck the game-winner from the top of the key with as good as no time left on the clock.
Stuckey finished with a game-high 24 points on 9-for-20 shooting. Monroe had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

In an epic battle between teams bullying for lottery position in this summer's NBA draft, the Pistons are in D.C. for their second of a current four-game road trip against the Washington Wizards. Both teams played the first half like you'd expect two teams with a combined 27 wins to play -- sloppy bad -- but the Wizards have a slight edge, 35-30.
The Pistons turned the ball over 13 times and shot 30-percent in the first 24 minutes. Fortunately, they're playing the Wizards and the Wizards did not shoot much better at 36-percent, including a donut on three-point tries (0-for-9). The Wizards have a 24-12 advantage in the paint and have not allowed a basket to Greg Monroe, who is 0-for-1 with four turnovers.
Jordan Crawford leads all scorers with 12 points. Tayshaun Prince leads the Pistons with 10 points.
