The last time the Detroit Pistons played the Cleveland Cavaliers, they took an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter and lost. On Wednesday night, they had an eight-point lead going into the fourth and wound up extending that lead and winning, 87-75.
The Pistons held the Cavs to just 31 points in the second half while racking up a season high 11 blocks over the course of the game. Tayshaun Prince tied his season-high with 29 points on 11-for-21 shooting. He also had eight rebounds.
The Cavs shot 35-percent and turned the ball over 15 times. Rookie Kyrie Irving was the Cavs' leading scorer with 22 points on 9-for-19 shooting. He also had nine rebounds and six assists. His fellow rookie Brandon Knight finished with 16 points and five assists for the Pistons.
The Pistons end their four-game road trip on Friday in Chicago.

The Detroit Pistons lost their best scorer, Rodney Stuckey, just six minutes into the game with a sore left hamstring, but they still lead the Cleveland Cavaliers at the half, 49-44.
Detroit shot 45-percent in the first half (50-percent from long range) while holding the Cavs to 38-percent. Tayshaun Prince leads the way with 18 points (a perfect 3-for-3 from downtown). Austin Daye saw 10 minutes thanks to the injuries to Stuckey and Ben Gordon, who is resting a sore groin, and contributed six points. Brandon Knight has nine.
The Cavs are being led by rookie Kyrie Irving; he has 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists, but he also has five turnovers.
