Ben Wallace is playing perhaps the final game of his heralded 15-year career.

Ben Wallace will start for the Detroit Pistons in their season finale against the Philadelphia 76ers at the Palace of Auburn Hills Thursday night in what could be the last NBA game of his career, according to Vince Ellis of The Detroit Free Press.

Wallace, 37, has made every attempt to downplay the evening, but Frank is ignoring Wallace’s request to come off the bench like he has for most of this season.

"He wanted to come off the bench, but that was a nondiscussion starter," Frank said. "I don’t know any decision Ben has made, but if it is, by chance, his last game, he deserves the opportunity -- and the fans have been along for the ride longer than I’ve been, an opportunity for them … . He honors the code of being a professional to the utmost."

Wallace has played nine of 15 NBA seasons with the Pistons, winning four Defensive Player of the year awards in Detroit along with an NBA championship in 2004. He has played in more games than any other undrafted free agent in the league's history.
