Detroit Pistons Announce 2012 Preseason Schedule

It was announced early in July that the Detroit Pistons would take part in the first-ever NBA Canada Series, taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in the preseason. That's confirmed now, as the league and team have released the entire preseason schedule. The Pistons will travel to the MTS Centre in Winnipeg on Oct. 24, their second-to-last preseason game, and it will be considered one of their four road games, while Minnesota will be spending one of its home games on the trip.

Detroit will have all four of its home games and will get things started against the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 10 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. According to the official website, tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, Aug. 7, and the source link has plenty of ways to get in on those tickets.

As of now, there are no television or radio broadcast schedules, but count on being able to catch the Pistons in action starting Oct. 10. The full schedule is below:

2012-13 NBA Schedule: Detroit Pistons Open Season At Home Against Houston Rockets

The Detroit Pistons will get their 2012-13 NBA season underway at home against the Houston Rockets on Halloween.

Despite a poor record last season, the Pistons will have three of their games nationally televised. The first comes on Nov. 16 when the Pistons will host the Orlando Magic on ESPN.

On Dec. 10, the Pistons travel to Philadelphia for a game against the 76ers televised on NBA TV.

The final nationally televised game is on Feb. 27 and will feature the Pistons making a trip to Washington to play the Wizards on ESPN.

Those Pistons fans who want a look at the defending champion Miami Heat will get their chance on Dec. 28 when LeBron James and company visit Auburn Hills.

The season closes for the Pistons with a trip to Brooklyn on April 17.
