Red Wings Vs. Penguins Final Score: Detroit Tops Pittsburgh 4-1

The Detroit Red Wings came from behind to knock off the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1 on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh. With the victory, Detroit has now won three straight.

It was a feel-good night all around for Detroit, as they rallied with goals in the second period by Pavel Datsyuk and in the third period by Johan Franzen and two by Danny Cleary. They raced past a strong team, though playing without star Sidney Crosby, that came into the game with one more point this season, 38, than Detroit had, 37. Now Detroit has 39 points, pulling them within a point of the Chicago Blackhawks atop the highly-competitive Central Division.

The win also marked a third straight for Detroit, who has outscored its opponents 16-4 during a three-game winning streak.

Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard gave up a goal to Evgeni Malkin 10:56 into the game but saved all 23 of Pittsburgh's other shots.

The hot-and-cold Red Wings have already strung together winning streaks of seven, five, and four games prior to the current streak. They will try to keep this streak going when they travel to take on the Nashville Predators on Thursday.
