Detroit hosts the Dallas Star with a chance to set the NHL record for consecutive home wins. The Red Wings tied the record at 20 straight on Sunday with a 4-3 win over Philadelphia.
In a bit of symmetry, the Flyers were the last team to win 20 straight at home, tying a mark first set by the Boston Bruins during the 1929-1930 season.
The Red Wings have won three straight overall and are currently sitting atop the Western Conference standings with an NHL-best 78 points.
Dallas comes in at 28-24-3 (13-13-1 on the road, if you’re wondering) and losers of two straight.
Goalie Joey MacDonald was summoned from the bench just 10 days ago after starter Jimmy Howard broke his pinkie. MacDonald has a .926 save percentage over his five games this season. Sunday against Philly he gave up three goals through the first two period but had a perfect third to preserve the win.

Stars Vs. Red Wings Final Score: Detroit Sets Home Streak Record With 3-1 Victory
The Detroit Red Wings tied the NHL's record for consecutive wins at home and were hoping to break that record on Tuesday night as they hosted the Dallas Stars. The Red Wings were able to break the previous mark set by the Philadelphia Flyers at 20 consecutive home games, by taking down the Stars 3-1 to set the record at 21 consecutive wins.
Henrik Zetterberg put his mark on the scoreboard first on a power play goal, assisted by Pavel Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom to put the Wings up 1-0. Brad Stuart picked up another goal for the Red Wings a few minutes afterwards to give the Wings a 2-0 lead entering the second period. Jiri Hudler picked up his 18th goal of the season to give Detroit a 3-0 lead in the third period before Adam Burish netted the only goal for the Stars.
