Red Wings Vs. Predators: Detroit Looks To Keep Record Winning Streak Going

The Nashville Predators visit the Detroit Red Wings hoping to stop their record breaking winning streak at 21.

There might never be another team in NHL history as good at home as the 2011/2012 Detroit Red Wings have been recently. They're record setters, getting a 21st straight win at Joe Louis Arena courtesy of the Dallas Stars. Now, the focus shifts from setting the record to grabbing it and carrying it as far as it can possibly be stretched.

The first team to try and stop them from taking the record and running with it will be the Nashville Predators, eight points behind the Wings currently in the standings. If there's a team out there to stop the Wings, Nashville just might be it. They beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in their most recent game riding big games from Nick Spaling, Ryan Ellis and Pekka Rinne.

For Detroit, Jimmy Howard is likely to still be out for the Wings with his broken finger which means Ty Conklin and Joey Macdonald will continue to hold down the fort between the pipes. Henrick Zetterberg will also miss the game with a lower body injury.

The last loss by the Red Wings at home was way back in early November. The Predators lost their last game against Detroit 4-1 earlier in the Wings' home winning streak.

The game will be at Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 PM ET.
