Red Wings Vs. Rangers Final Score: Depleted Detroit Defeated In Overtime, 2-1

The Pistons picked up a point on Wednesday night against the New York Rangers, which helped them move back into home ice for the playoffs for the time being, but failed to end their losing streak. The Red Wings have now lost six straight, eight of their last nine, and 11 of their last 14.

Meanwhile, the New York Rangers distanced themselves from the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference. They are the best team in the conference by three points, although the Penguins do have an extra game to make up.

Detroit got on the scoreboard first Wednesday night when Henrik Zetterberg ended his scoring skid and lit the lamp a little over three minutes into the game. Ty Conklin, who was recalled and starting in place of the injured Jimmy Howard, stopped 32 shots but couldn't stop a power play shot by Brad Richards in the first period and Ryan Callahan's 27th goal of the season in overtime, on which he had no chance.

Detroit won 37 of the 54 faceoffs, but were outshot 34-27.

The Wings are back on the ice on Saturday against the Hurricanes.
