Kyle Quincey has been suspended for one game for a hard hit on Florida's Tomas Kopecky, according to Helene St. James of The Detroit Free Press.
The Detroit Red Wings defenseman earned himself a major penalty and a game misconduct during the Wings 2-1 shootout victory over the Florida Panthers on Sunday. A hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday earned Quincy the suspension. Here's a video from Brendan Shanahan, the NHL's Senior Vice President of Player Safety and Hockey Operations. Shanahan won three Stanley Cups with the Red Wings.
The Detroit Red Wings acquired a Quincey a week before the trade deadline, but he was a healthy scratch on Friday. Now, he will miss Wednesday's game in St. Louis.
