Detroit, MI (Sports Network) – Brandon Inge drove in the game-winner with a single in the bottom of the 13th inning, as the Detroit Tigers outlasted the American League Central champion Minnesota Twins, 11-10, in the second test of a three-game series at Comerica Park.
Inge also picked up a dubious distinction during the game, setting the all-time strikeout mark for a Tigers hitter. Inge whiffed three times Saturday, giving him 1,101 for his career in 10 seasons. Lou Whitaker was the previous record-holder with 1,099 in 19 years with the club.
Detroit will close out their home schedule for 2010 with an afternoon matinée against Minnesota.
