The Detroit Tigers have acquired RHP Zach Miner from the Kansas City Royals, a familiar face as he has played for the Tigers before.
Right handed pitcher Zach Miner, most recently with the Kansas City Royals after originally being a Detroit Tiger, has been traded back to the Tigers for cash considerations, as reported by Bob Dutton on Twitter.
#Royals have traded RHP Zach Miner, a former Tiger, back to Detroit for cash considerations.
Miner will be playing for the Tigers' AA club in Erie, so it wasn't a trade meant to give the Tigers any more depth in their pitching with the top level team. No real reasons have come out from Detroit as to why the trade was made other than that.
Though he has pitched in quite a few games at the Major League level, Miner hasn't had an appearance since 2009.
