On Monday afternoon, the Detroit Tigers announced that catcher Alex Avila was going to miss the team's Monday night game against the Texas Rangers due to knee soreness. This is obviously concerning because Avila is only four days removed from being activated from the disabled list due to a right hamstring strain.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland made it clear that he is worried about the soreness and even went as far to say that it was a "red flag."
Avila out of lineup with renewed knee soreness. "Red flag," Leyland said. Avila due to be examined later today.

Leyland went on to explain that the fact that Avila is feeling soreness so soon after his stint on the DL has him worried about whether he is fully recovered.
Avila is scheduled to be examined later on Monday afternoon.
