The Detroit Tigers will head to Toronto to face the Blue Jays over the weekend as they try and seek first place in the AL Central again.

Detroit's short stint on top of the AL Central came to an end as they dropped their last series to the Cleveland Indians, who are now nipping at their heels in third place. With the Indians playing the last place Minnesota Twins next, the Tigers are going to need to keep pace in their weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre.

Detroit is currently a half game behind the Chicago White Sox heading into the series.

They'll need to be at their best offensively as they face one of Toronto's best pitchers in 2012, Carlos Villanueva (5-0, 2.86 ERA). Normally a reliever, Villanueva is currently undefeated thanks to some dominant performances since being put into the line up as a starter thanks to injuries. The Tigers will send out a strong pitcher of their own to the mound, Rick Porcello (7-5, 4.40 ERA).

The game will be at the Rogers Centre at 7:07 p.m. ET.
