The Detroit Tigers' full 2013 schedule was released by MLB on Wednesday.
The Detroit Tigers' full schedule for the 2013 season was released by Major League Baseball on Wednesday, giving fans a chance to look ahead to next year even as this season winds down. With interleague play occurring throughout the season and the Houston Astros moving to the AL, some changes are in store.
The Tigers open the season at Target Field against the Minnesota Twins on April 1 before returning home. The New York Yankees are visiting Comerica Park for Detroit's home opener on April 5, the beginning of a six-game homestand that also includes a set against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Interleague play begins for Detroit on April 26 with a series at Comerica Park against the Atlanta Braves. The Tigers don't play the Chicago White Sox until early July, but they have 12 games each other during the final two months of the season.
Detroit closes the 2013 season in South Beach against the Miami Marlins from Sept. 27-29. They're the only two teams to end the season with an interleague series.
